About me

I’m a professional developmental editor, writing mentor and host of Casa Jacaranda, a retreat space for writers in Portugal. For more than 20 years I’ve helped authors refine their novels, develop their writing skills, strengthen their craft and connect with the deeper intention behind their work.

My approach is thoughtful and collaborative, shaped by a long career helping writers shape their manuscripts into books they’re proud to publish, without losing the voice that makes their work unique.

I have written many articles on writing and editing, and am a regular contributor to Writer Unboxed.

I am the co-founder of Wordplay and host of monthly workshops for writers throughout Portugal.

The typical turnaround time for a 60,000 word novel is only 15 working days.

The cost may be more when English is not your first language, usually 1 cent (US dollars) extra per word on the above-noted price.

The free sample edit applies only to the first 1500 words of a completed novel manuscript (of more than 10,000 words).
